Negative Approach

How thinking negatively can help?

A CEO calls her staff into the conference room on the eve of a major launch initiative.

She calls the meeting to attention and begins:

"I have bad news. The project has failed spectacularly. Tell me what went wrong?"

You have a question in your mind, right?

"But they haven't even launched the project?"

The CEO is using a technique known as "Premortem", by forcing an exercise in hindsight - in advance.

This will help the team to envision what could go wrong, what will go wrong, in advance, before they start.

Our plan & the way things turn out rarely resemble each other.

Far too many people don't have a backup plan because they refuse to consider that something might not go exactly as they wish.

As we are going through this global coronavirus crisis, we all need to start using this technique in our own life and organization.

This will help us to be prepared for the worst possible scenario.

I would love to know how are you preparing yourself for the time ahead?
